Waiting for roads to clear
We are ready to leave home and hit the road, but the road isn't quite ready for us. Snow and ice in centeral IL, south through Kentucky, have left roads snow covered. We expect the sun and road crews to clear them by afternoon, but aren't in a hurry to leave this AM for fear we'll get to the snow covered roads before they are cleared. We intend to head down I-39 to Bloomington, over to Champaign, then south on I-57 to the I-24 cut-off to Paducah, KY. We'd like to make it to Paducah or farther today, but that will depend on road conditions. Paducah got 1 to 2 inches of ice yesterday. Many are without electricity in western Kentucky. Stay tuned.
