We made it to Ft. Myers on the gulf side of FL yesterday, after delaying our trip one day due to high winds. It's a challenge enough to keep this rig centered in our traffic lane without 15-20 MPH winds blowing us sideways.
We are at the Pine Island KOA, http://www.pineislandkoa.com/ just a mile or so north of Sanibel Island. We did a little exploring yesterday of this 17 mile long by 3 mile wide island. We were surprised to see so many nurseries growing every kind of palm tree. We plan on doing more exploring today, since it is only supposed to get up to 68 deg. (boohoo). There appears to be lots of beaches to explore, restaurants to try, boat trips to outer islands, etc., etc.
